Program Description
Fashion Design and Textiles Technology teaches you how to create clothing and textile products while exploring culture and creative expression. You will learn sewing and pattern making, fashion illustration, textile science, dyeing and printing, digital design with industry software, and basics of fashion business and history. The program builds practical skills to make garments, design prints, and present ideas. Graduates can work as fashion designers, textile technologists, stylists, merchandisers, costume makers, or move into related arts careers such as graphic design, museum curation, art teaching, creative direction, and fashion journalism. Create a digital design portfolio of eight original pieces that demonstrates illustration, fabric selection, and technical notes.
Analyze the cultural and historical influences on dress through three researched case studies and present findings clearly.
